I recieved a letter from RJM on 6/21/08 claiming that I owe $148.58 to Fingerhut, which is something I have never heard of, and of course got online to investigate RJM. They also used my maiden name which I haven't used for some time now. This invalid debt obviously isn't on my credit report, I checked with all Transunion, Experian, and Equifax.
Along with their letter to me they sent a "no postage necessary" envelope which I will fill with a letter disputing their claim (I'm using the same format listed in a couple of other complaints) along with random pieces of paper to weigh it down so it will be as heavy as the U.S.P.S. will allow. It might not put them out of business but it sure will be inconvienient.
I'm curious how this group is still in operation with as many rip off notices these guys have. I'm even more curious how they got my information to begin with and find this very disturbing.
I hope that anyone else who recieves these letters will think twice before just believing they owe a debt.
